RE: Bryston 4B-ST sound quality

Adding to what Mike K said, "The 4BSST is better, and the 4BSST2 is better yet,"........

....but I found the 7BSST2 monoblocks not to my liking at all. The bass is tight and dynamic but the overall Bryston sound was lean, clean, cold, sterile, and not very musical.

I had the ARC LS25mkII driving my Brystons. I switched to the more 'tubey' sounding Aesthetix Calypso which helped but it still lacked that midrange and lower midrange warmth and robustness that I tend to prefer.

I also owned the VT100mkII years ago and thought it was a much better sounding amp than the Brystons. But maybe that's just me and my personal preference.
