Thanks for your input. I am driving a pair of B&W Matrix 801 IIs and am using the Bryston 4B-ST. My other power amp, an Audio Research VT-100, cannot deliver the bass punch and clarity of the Bryston, although I slightly prefer the ARC's gentler treble presentation.

I am considering maybe going for a Mark Levinson 431 or a Bryston 4B-SST since both are solid state, have high power and are about the same price on the used market.
