Amp/Preamp Asylum

Looking for a new Amp or Preamp? If you're after tubes, post over here.

I have a couple Aragon components (preamps and a phono amp) which I obtained rather cheaply on the theory that I would eventually find them power supplies. Being the impatient type, I'd like to shortcut the process of waiting! Of course, I'd also like to upgrade the power supplies of a couple other components. One suggested possibility that I've seen is the Allied Electronics HBB24-1.2-AG . This was indicated to be a sonic and economic (at $91) improvement. Can anyone provide suggestions for possible power supply substitutions or, perhaps, for the appropriate modifications to the Allied Electronics supply? Help is much appreciated!
