Good, than you've tried other things. You really should try tubed gear. For the qualities you mentioned - kinda describes tubed gear.
I listen to classical almost 99% of the time. And I use a fully restored vintage Sherwood S-5000 integrated tubed amp. Can't imaging anything better for my needs! Only wish I had a remote volume control - hence the Placette may help.
