Congrats on what sounds like a very enjoyable setup.
I helped my son pick out and set up his Emotiva HT gear. Originally he used an Onkyo receiver which had preamp outputs and got the XPA-5 amp. He also went with (now discontinued) Emo speakers and subwoofer all around. His setup simply rocks for what he spent. We also took advantage of an annual sale and saved about $500.
Last year while attending Emo's annual Emofest he WON the UMC-200 in a raffle. They were giving away mostly XPA-200 amps and CD players and we thought he had won an amp until he got it home and realized it was the receiver. BONUS! The UMC-200 blows away the Onkyo. He put the Onkyo up in his bedroom for his second system.
I think Emotiva is an interesting company with super customer service. I bought their pro Airmotiv 5s for my PC and they rock.
