As I said, it's true in quantum mechanical situations, when you count photons and 'assume a given number of photons'.
Acoustic waves also can be quantum mechanical in very small magnitudes, though this is of course completely irrelevant for home audio technology as is the quantum mechanical nature of electromagnetism.
