If you are correct that low frequencies carry less energy but require more energy from a sound system, there can be only one answer: Low frequency transducers are less efficient than mid frequency and high frequency transducers. However, your premise might be completely wrong to begin with. You have given no evidence that low frequencies carry less energy nor have you given any evidence that bass requires more energy in a sound system. I think you need to validate those statements before wasting other people's energy in answering your question.
