Luxman CL-38u or McIntosh C220 Preamps

Being I'm trying to get a high end amplifier, I'm needing to upgrade my preamp as well. The amp I'm thinking of using is a YBA 2HC which is a 70watt high current SS amp. Speakers are unknown, but I was thinking of matching them with B&W 805D speakers. Depends if I can audition myself a better set of speakers. That said I'm wanting a tube preamp and the Luxman and McIntosh are within my price range. Now I won't have the possibility of auditioning both preamps, so I kinda have to make a choice based on other peoples inputs. Surely I would be able to do an inhome trial on the Mac, but the Luxman probably not. What are people's thoughts on these two pre-s?
