If you want an inexpensive one box solution then you are correct in recognizing that two sets of 6 ohm speakers may be an issue with the gear mentioned. In my own home system I bypass those issues by using a preamp with two outputs so I can run two amplifiers at the same time from one source. AV receivers seem to be plentiful on Craigslist but I'm assuming you don't want to do surround sound (two rooms?). You might look for an integrated which has preamp outs which might allow the use of a separate power amp at the same time as the amp in the integrated itself. My favorite quality brands on the used market for power amplifiers are Adcom (the 535 can be had used for about $150) and the Parasound HCA series from the early 90s. Extraordinary quality for budget minded audiophiles. I like NAD but their QC is less than stellar.
