Yes, I too was a past owner.
Luckily for me, the only problems I had was that the volume control was a bit noisy, (but if I did not adjust the volume, that was not a problem), and the balance control was off, (but all I had to do was twist it a bit to one side, and that solved that problem too). It truly was a shame that Counterpoint used such cheap products, when their design was truly above average, as they produced really excellent sound, (IMHO anyway).
I have suggested having him get the Counterpoint repaired, so perhaps he will take my advice.
