It is very likely that the production of the LNC-2 were low. The highest serial number that I saw in the past was 850 or so. Most of them have 'sealed' x-over modules and are useless in most systems. I personally have 3 LNC-2. I'm using one right now. One is a spare unit and the other one is my spare's spare.
They all have open frame modules that can change x-over point easily. The first LNC-2 that I bought had serial no. 0065 which was very low serial no. and now resided in Japan.
