I use KT120's in my Rogue amp

I use the KT120 tube (x4) in my Rogue Cronus Magnum integrated amp and the "Magnum" version power supply provides sufficient current for the additional heater filament demand.

Since the tube socket sits below the chassis cover in Rogue amps, the holes need to be larger to accommodate the fatter KT120 tubes. The newer Rogue amps have the larger tube hole cut-outs or Rogue will sell folks a newer style chassis cover for a reasonable price.... $100 in the case of the Rogue Cronus integrated amp.

Mark O'Brien of Rogue Audio highly recommends the KT120 as it is now his favorite sounding power tube. It was a definite step up vs the EL34's and KT90's I had previously used in the Rogue integrated amp.

I'm not familiar with the Quick Silver amps but in a couple ARC amps, I actually preferred the 6550 tube vs KT88. To me, the KT88 had a thicker, maybe warmer, but less transparent sound. The 6550 had more 'clarity' and extension.... but this may be amp dependent. This is what I experienced in the ARC VT100mkII and VT50.
