I have Emotiva UPA-1 monoblocks with an input impedence of about 22k ohms. My Mcintosh c-15 preamp has a rated output impedence of 600 ohms.
I have been considering a tube preamp, and I have been told, on this forum, that matching a tube pre to my amps may be difficult because of the low input impedence of the Emotiva's. also, I have been advised that preamp output impedences listed on spec sheets don't remain constant, rather they can fluctuate within a given frequency range. This is why, I have thought about a possible modification rather than serching for different power amps.
If I decide to pursue this, I would not do the work myself, as I don't have the skill set.
