RE: Emotive - yeah or nah

Auditioned XPA-3 @ home, neutral, well-sorted, high-quality 3.1 music system based on pure analog Trinaural Processor.

Wife could not stand it after less than 30 seconds. Leading edges way harsh. Compared to French YBA-designed Audio Refinement Multi-3: YBA had much more body, musicality, palpability, and eminently listenable, all absent from the XPA...I wish I had auditioned the Emotiva UPA monos instead, which Emotiva said are softer, more tamed down in the treble.

I was severely underwhelmed.

One good thing is apparently endless power. Played loud enough that my 1kW bass amp turned off, which it never has before nor since. The bass amp just could not keep up with the XPA.
