Are you referring to the Krell S300i? If so, this model is when Krell began having some of their units built in China and the S300i is one. I believe your Esoteric would best it in sound quality and an acquaintance bought a S300i, the first one was bad out of the box but exchanged no problem and about a year or so later it was back for a repair.
What price range were you shopping? Many high end brands make good integrated amps. Most of the digital power amps are smaller, some of the Bryston are half chasis as well.
I would hate to see you take a step back in sound quality just for pre outs and space. So you may want to buy with a return policy or take advantage of any in home auditioning.
