I have used an AI M3A pre-amp since 1997.
It needs some repair and I was tired of
the 2 volume pots and the big steps in
the loudness settings. It needs new pots.
Also, a remote would be nice, so enter the
USP-1. For $400 dollars I thought I would
take a chance. The bass on the USP-1 is much
better than the M3A and it is dead quiet, the M3A
was not. The highs are very detailed on the USP-1
but the mid range does not have the tube magic
that the M3A did. I am still a happy USP-1 owner.
