Emotive - yeah or nah

I've recently assembled my first home theater system for movies and sports with family and friends. I bought used, mostly upper mid-fi for my starter. Learning the ins and outs of using an AVR I frequented the various HT websites. Dog-gone-it if Emotiva is one of the most popular brand out there with the home theater crowd. I'm sure one reason is its cheap.

I've been enjoying the surround sound experience so much on action movies and sports that I can see an upgrade in the future.

Why am I here? Because this is the group I trust the most in asking about the Emotiva brand. The most common upgrade on these HT sites is to upgrade the amp section of the AVR with preouts to a 5-channel Emotiva amp.

So, what is the skinny on this brand?
