Naim owners scare me!!!

Why is it that Naim seems to make such monsters of their owners? It's almost like a cult. No other brand I know create such loyal and defensive owners. With owners of other brands, they might love their equipment but can still acknowledge that their equipment have weaknesses and that other equipment might be superior in certain areas.

But not Naim owners - "Naim is the best, nothing else can compare, DIN connections are the best, Naim's 30 watts are superior to other brand's 100 watts, all other brands are slow and inaccurate, etc."

I have now learned not to even hint at anything negative about Naim equipment to a Naim owner or dealer. Invariably, you'll get a bit of a lecture about not knowing what live music really sounds like, because if you did, you'll know that only Naim is faithful in reproducing the original sound while all other brands fail to do so. I think it's all quite narrow minded.

I guess I'm only opening myself up to hate mail and death threats with this post. But I'm just trying to understand this phenomenon. Maybe I'm ignorant for not seeing the Naim light, or perhaps I've just been unlucky enough to run into the wrong Naim owners and dealers.
