Hi Joe -
My ARC LS25mk2 match up nicely with the Brystons but it would probably not be my first choice in this application. I use it because I already own it. I chose the ARC LS25mk2 for my Manley tube amps because it is fairly neutral and they mate up very well with the 'tubey' sounding Manleys. It's a good balance.
Since the Brystons appear to be noticeably more neutral compared to the Manleys, I would probably opt for a more 'tubey' sounding linestage, perhaps something like a Cary. (But in my case, the Cary SLP-05 which would be a top choice, does not physically fit in my AV rack).
But now we're splitting hairs to tune for personal preference. I love the effortless dynamics, resolution, smoothness, and transparency of the Brystons. They sound awesome. But they are not 'warm'. Some folks would be perfectly happy with that. However, for my taste, they can use a slight bit of 'warming up' which means a more 'tubey' linestage, or different speakers. I use a pair of very detailed and transparent Thiels but I also have a pair of more efficient and warmer sounding Tannoys (in storage). However, the Tannoys aren't as transparent sounding.
It's all about synergy and tuning the gear to one's taste and not necessarily about which is "better". I've already been asked by one Inmate if the Brystons are "keepers". In the right setup, they are definitely keepers but that doesn't mean I will keep them. It's too early to tell and I am undecided. One of my all time favorites are the AES/Cary SixPac EL34 monoblocks. I love those amps and yes they are "keepers" but they don't fit in my current setup so I no longer own them.
