Actually the CL-32 is a very nice pre and definitely worth an update.

This pre will throw a very decent soundstage, frequency extremes are quite good, and the mids are very good.

Send it to the likes of Chris Johnson of Parts Connexion for a refurb and re-tube, you'll be very pleased.
