I Couldn't take the hassle of tubes.
Tube blows out, huh? Does it take other stuff out at the same time....PS if it's a short or coupling caps or other circuit elements?
Now you're down to 'first cause'. Good. How many tubes do you sacrifice trying to figure that one out? Unless you are a decent bench tech with the proper gear, you'd be out the amp until you get it looked at by aforesaid pro.
Personally, I'd rather periodically have to adjust bias current or voltage rather than go thru what looks like could be coming down the pipe.
PS: I am not exactly non-technical. I've worked in the semiconductor industry, at least the fix-it part of it for near 30 years. Haven't seen a tube anything since about '72.
