Cayin A100T amplifier 6cg7 tube replacement

My Cayin came with a Cayin badged 6cg7 but upon close inspection the tube revealed itself to be a Chinese 6N6 tube which doesn't look like other 6CG7's I have nor does it sound like them either. I wonder if this was just a factory 'error' or if the amp was actually designed around the 6N6, or if the 6N6 is a drop in for the 6CG7. They look similar but not the same. The 6N6 as a bigger bottle and smaller plates.

Anyone else run into this. FWIW the distributor and dealer have not been helpful.
