I had a couple of C80's over the years that had similar problems. Both of them were problems at the rca input jacks and the had problems with the solder joints at the rca inputs. What i assume had happened is the previous owner(s) pushed them back into a cabinet and the cables made contact with the back of the cabinet stressing the joints. Might try checking there. Best way to check it is to move the input cables slightly to see if it gives your signal back. If so, you have found your issue. Good luck with your search.
