Dear Mr. Charles Hansen (of Ayre),

Earlier I encountered a volume issue with my K1x preamp that I did not have time to call service in Hong Kong. It was a small pop sound/noise heard from speakers (Avalon) when I turned the volume up to the position near unity gain i.e. about 3:00pm position. No music was played so I could hear the 'pop' sound when the volume control was near the 3:00pm position.

The issue now has become more strange. When the volume position was near 3:00pm and the pop sound heard, the Ayre V5 power amplifier went into red (orange) light in the front. I guess it went into protection mode and cut the output. I guarantee that there's no crossing of + and - of speaker cables, etc. I could not image how a pop sound caused by K1x preamp can trigger a V5 protection.

Could you shed some light? Thx.
