I always find this when going passive be it TVC, or what ever. It all sounds great & backgroung is black allright, but then comes the reality..what is lost..? for me it is the Aliveness of the music..stick a DHT low mu front end on any tube amp you have & you might well hear this also. IMO. front ends are where is all is lost or gained in sonics. DHT front ends are a pain, but once you get em quiet, there is nothing like em. No passive I ever tried touches them. The math says it shouldn't matter at all, but my ears tell me entire differant story, Wet,Dry..take your pick...Neutral..? I don't believe in such things, nothing is neutral in reproduction hi-fi..
