Paypal doesn't like it and they try their best to discourage it, but they have no choice. I've had to use my credit card protection four times, once with Amex and three times with Visa. It's not a problem at all. It changes the game. When you use your credit card protection Paypal has to chase the money rather then leaving you holding the bag and waiting for Paypal to "try" to recover the funds. Every credit card merchant is bound by the terms of the credit card issuer.
