RE: Accuphase-45

I have Class AB p7000 from Accuphase which I preferred over A50V because I listen mostly to rock. Many people here have heard it A50V and most, I believe, will say that a50v is a great amp. The same, I am sure, can be said about A45 which is a direct heir of the tradition. However, if You want more slam and drive, take a look at p7100 or p5000. IMO class A from Accuphase is very rich in obertones, yes, mellow, but slightly slower than their AB designs, and I recommend them (class a) for jazz and vocals, chamber music... For rock and big wind orchestras You want P7100 or p5000 (p5100). One of the inmates here has 2 Class A Accuphases exactly with Proac and he can tell more. Also, search for accuphase in speakers asylum.
You don't have to worry about bass capabilities of any Accuphase poweramp. Their bass is quick, very well defined and never monotonous. Also, it is very clean and true, never wooly or puffy, that is why some people AT FIRST think Accuphase is bass shy. It is bass-correct, imo.
Serge.
P.S. I think A45 has a much stronger power supply, though I am not sure.
