On my previous SLI-80 F1, I had troubles driving a set of ESL63s at 8ohms. The left channel would go very faint and then come back. This would happen every so often. If I moved to 4 ohms, there were no issues.

I suspected a transformer and have since moved up to the AES Sixpac Monos. I have no problems what so ever with these amps driving the 63s.
