My amplifier is in the shop for service and a friend (obviously, a good friend) has offered me his Cary SLI80 integrated amp to drive my Quad ESL 57s. The Cary is configured for triode operation and will produce 40 wpc. This is too much for the Quads but if I keep the volume down there should be no harm. However, I don't know if the Cary can manage the difficult load of the Quads. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Please note that I will post this in the Planar Asylum as well.

Thanks!
