help you decide which one to go with. I own two Dynaco ST-70 amps, and one pair of the Dynaco Mk 111 mono amps. One of my ST-70 amps that I own is wired in triode, and it has a measured power output of 19 watts per channel. Look for info on the SDS cap board that goes under the chassis on stand offs to use with either one you buy. That will also tighten up the bass. Have fun and find a good one. No matter what the people say the iron in these amps was actually very good. My ST-70 measured less than 1% distortion at full power on the bench. The way they cut production costs was by using cheaper parts like caps and resistors in their kits. One of the AA sponsors has the manuals available for downloads in the Dynaco doctor forum. If you can solder you can replace the original capacitors on top with Sprague 716P. The SDS, or Curcio board will allow you to leave the original large silver can cap in place on top, but totally bypassed. The original large can caps were really not adequate when new. The replacement boards make these amps more reliable. You can look in the classifieds here in AA for one, try AudioGon, and Ebay as your last choice. Just be patient and find a good one. Even better a company is now selling these as brand new kit amps that you can build new yourself. I guess the deciding factor is how efficient your speakers are? Good luck! John
