Eminent Technology LFT VIII

Hello Fellow Panel Lovers,
I have owned a pair of 8's now for about 3 months and really love what they do, so it was to my pleasure to see HiFi+ recently cover the speaker with such a glowing review and give the ET's the props they deserve.

After carefully reading the article, I went ahead and tried a couple of the suggested set-up tips and found them to be helpful in bettering my overall enjoyment of the speakers within my listening environment. Especially the removal of the top trim piece to "allow better air" as they put it.

To my surprise this really worked, it opened up the stage height well above my seated listening position (an inherent problem ET owners experienced when standing vs. sitting while listening to our speakers). So If you haven't taken this step, give it a shot, it's easy and can easily be put back if no benefit is realized.

Another suggestion was to wire the high freq. panel to the medium setting(-6dB) vs. using the flat setting(which most do for the better extension). This seemed rather strange to me given the nature of the 8's but I tried it anyway and currently have them settling in before listening or running any tests tones.

I would like to hear from others(owners and non) that have tried any of these adjustments and get some of their thoughts/experiences on the above mentioned.

Peace...& take care,
