Frank,
The original MG1 had xover points @ 2400 Hz 6db/oct however I would recommend using the improved version xover which uses a .67 mH COIL for the bass/mid and 20 mF CAP for the tweeter. MY MG1 improved already had this setup so I merely upgraded the stock cap with a solen bypassed with an MIT .O1 mF. For now I left the coil stock (Air coil) but plan to replace with a nice Solen or Goertz wich I hope will improve low end control. The xover points with this config. are 6dB/OCT@1200 Hz for the low pass and 6dB/oct@1600 Hz for the high pass.
I also believe it would be advantagious to bypass the cheap banana inputs and fuse by direct wiring the xover w/the option to biamp or biwire. The improvement made by these changes is significant. The resolution and definition in the mids and highs are immediatley apparent and there is much greater extension in the highs. Anyone who thinks the older mg1s and mg2s are too polite and reticent should try these mods, they really wake up this speaker - bang for the buck. If there is anyone out there with additional suggestions and input us vintage maggie owners would love to hear from you .

Regards,
gpalazz
