Maggie 1.7i XO upgrade info please.

Ive seacrched many threads and other sites for info on 1.7i crossover mod, but still could use some info.
I know GR Research sells a kit. Ive read mixed results on this from great to waste of $$. Another poster indicated that he felt just a quality bypass cap was the only "good change" he thought resulted in SQ in the high Hz.
Then there are those who stated just bypassing fuse plate and upgrade wires made a noticeable improvement.
So my plan is to add something like a .1uf milspec bypass cap, replace wire with something like Neotech 12awg UP-OCC, use Cardas terminals and bypass fuse. Any thoughts?
I do have a question. According to schematic, which Ill try to post here, it shows a 10uf cap on midrange and no cap on tweeter.
Im guessing this is the cap that gets a bypass cap? If so, Ive read 10% is a rule of thumb thus my choice of .1uf.
Also, determining polairty off the driver tabs is suppose to be tricky. Any hints?
If Im off base here, Im open for correction.
