0.5 vs 1.5 (or 1.7)

I picked up the 1.5 for a friend. At the moment they play in my room.
The 1-series are no problem at all in my small room. The bass goes deeper than my 0.5 and their character is better. Tonight I'm going to test mid en highs with tracks I use for years now. I already heard there are little differences. My Ayre V6 is doing a great job.
As I read here, the 1.6 is a good choice for me. An ex-dealer advices the 1.7 (without the i).
