When I had my LRS's I used my Emotiva XPA-1; high current 1kw mono blocks along with a Adcom GFP 750 preamp. Source was a logitech squeezebox stream fed into a Musical fidelity M1 DAC.When I auditioned them at the dealer they were using a Magnum Cronus and it was unbelievable.
But if you want any decent bass out of em' in the >40db range you gotta go high current.
Just my opinion.
