IMO you haven't done Magnepan any favor by relating your story here. It would have been commendable for them to simply to replace the speaker. Their repairs being non-existent or in short supply, which is not acceptable by my standards, they should cease manufacturing their product. If I was thinking about buying a 3.7i (which I'm not), your story would give me second thoughts. (And if that wasn't enough, their 'i' story still ticks me off.)
I experienced something similar with a 60+K SUV (though it was usable) and its manufacturer assembled a new one. Well, I could have had it declared a 'lemon' forever identifiable by its VIN.
