RE: 3.7i Parasound A-21 underpowered, need advise -

Need clarification: Is the amp on the fritz and causing the distortion or is it the speaker? Did you try swapping speakers to see if the distortion follows (speaker) or stays on the same channel (amp)?
If it's the speaker then your amp very well may be clipping, although I would think the A21 would be up to the task.
Oh yeah, if the fuse blew once and didn't go the other time, it's proof to me that the fuses are irrelevant, ie they do nothing but take up space and degrade the signal and provide no protection. Keep them in place until your warranty is expired but then think about bypassing them.
