Many years ago I picked up a used pair of SMGs. They had eye-hooks screwed into the top rail so obviously a previous owner hung them. I never tried it (no need).
Also, way back (try Mr Peabody's Wayback Machine) in disco days I remember reading about one dance club that suspended several pairs of Maggies from the ceiling, parallel to the floor. Guess the intent was to "immerse" the dancers in the sound. ;^)
It can be done but are the dogs really that rambunctious?
