As usual, your response and perspective is most welcome. Since I started this thread, my thinking has been evolving- in particular, about speakers. While I intend to audition Magnepan .7's with my tube amps, I'm starting to consider other panel speakers as well, including perhaps open-baffle designs.

There are few things in this life that have given me more pleasure than music and I've had the good fortune to be able to enjoy decent sound reproduction in my home for decades.
