My dedicated room is 11 x 13 x 8. My 1.7's do remarkably well .... amazing in fact when listening to 2.0 or 2.1 music. You all might think it crazy but this "little cozy" room also contains a 5.1 almost all Maggie system consisting of my aforementioned 1.7's as the L/R. A CC5/DWM center channel, and MC-1's as surrounds. A Rythmik F12 sub fills the bottom.Room treatments, especially diffusion behind the 1.7 goes a long, long, long way in "opening" up the room.
Your .7's should sound sublime once you do the "Maggie Waltz" and find their happy sweetspot!! Please give serious thought to adding a subwoofer .... it really, really helps.
