Many times I've seen Inmates post a link or reference to an item for sale. Nearly always that is because they expect there may be someone interested in the item or it relates to a current discussion.
My understanding is so long as the item is not owned/offered by the person posting the referenced ad that can be OK.
If I'm wrong I'd appreciate a correction.
