RE: Resocking Tympani's

It is an easy job. As far as I remember, the old socks have staples top and bottom. The new style socks only at the bottom. The staple gun can be a simple one, not necessary an electric. About acoustic transparency, the new style is maybe more transparent but I would not swear on it. It is a bit fragile though. I have some old and new style socks in storage. You want me to take a closer look? Unfortunatley, they are of very different colours, old off-white and new black.
