Your 3.7s - and your ears - will love you for it, if you do re-make the XO with better-sounding parts ... and:
* get rid of the crap Magnepan speaker wire connectors.
* get rid of the crap fuse holders (better still, remove them).
* replace the tweeter attenuation resistor (if you're using one) with a Duelund.
* replace the wiring to the drivers from the XO.
* get some braced stands (if you haven't already).
* replace the MDF frame with a hardwood frame.
But you'll have to build an external box to take the new XO as, physically, quality components are much larger than the ones Magnepan use - so they will no longer fit in the rebate on the frame.
Of course, you could always go active! :-))
