RE: No substitute for ample power

It is a matter of not having the class G switching in place in the Crown Macrotechs. The class G winding on the PS transformer can only hold up the extra voltage for a short while - typically 200 ms. The Crown MTs have simply a big torroid and many transistors in the output, plus a few tricks to vary the internal impedance to match difficult loads.
