AI take forever the Modulus 3A has more potential by modification than by refurb.
Get it back and look for a mod shop to do the upgrade Look up Salvatore's website for possible mods you would want to have done while getting it up and running.
He suggests Tutay but there are others who are less busy.
You will want to upgrade the caps, particularly the power supply caps, The diodes, the interstage caps (use foil caps) Get a separate power supply for the filaments, it makes the preamp much more dynamic.
Look into the Bruce Heran phono and line stage designs - again, separate filament supplies are a key to success. 3 amp SMPS supplies with a regulator will do the trick..
