RE: How many quads should I stack?

I'm thinking I would be safe with a 16 AWG? Should I attempt to use the old clips or there is a better way to reattach the wires? I think with 14-16 AWG I'll run into problems using the old clips so any suggestions? I tried finding the gauge used by the crosby mod but I haven't had much success. Also should I go with a solid or stranded wire?
