While you are saving for a preamp get yourself an Apple Airport Express (~$50 on Craigslist) and use it to wirelsssly stream Spotify or iTunes from your iPhone or iPad. The Airport makes an amazing "preamp" when used this way. Run the analog output of the Airport straight into your Perreaux.
