But others may have different priorities.
I created a nice media room for TV watching (not as nice as the one above). Then I have a separate room -- man cave? -- for serious music listening. The rest of the family doesn't have to listen to Mahler or Sibelius, and I can focus just on music. Wins for everyone in my household.
Also, when the music is difficult, I don't have an excuse to switch channels and do something else. I just power through it and eventually I either "get it" or give up. Ultimately I gain more musical satisfaction by both being totally involved in the music and obtaining an insight or understanding? of what the music is really about.
