Russ has a point, the speakers have to be at least 3' from the wall behind them. I think the 1.7's would work better visually than the bigger 3.7's, though sonically, the 3.7's are a step up. The .7's are another possibility, combined with DWM woofers that you can put out of the way.
If you can't go with the floor standers, I'd go with the wall mounted Maggies, they almost seem to have been designed with this room in mind.
