Thanks for the feedback. Those Crown amps are interesting. Funny thing is that I was just checking out the 2000 and 2500 on Monday night on line at a friend's suggestion...

Strangely, I am getting really good body and weight from my 807 monos. May be the iron. Not sure. I bought them used and I think it's basic Hammond stuff but it may be better. Amazingly ballsy for a small, low powered pair of monos.

Am leaning towards buying a Sumo nine plus to try as an alternate as they are reasonably priced and said to be sweet sounding amps that were marketed as Class A designs... Supposedly very stable into low impedances and enough juice for the 2 + 2...
